I also forgot to add, IRS publications, especially Pub 17
http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p17.pdf
are great references if you are unclear about anything in the tax materials.  But don't worry, you don't have to memorize everything in the pubs, these are just good references.

If you are not already very familiar with the 1040, 1065, 1120 and 1120S forms, it is also very useful to familiarize yourself with the forms.  Remembering how the form is laid out can help you answer questions asking for such details as what types of income/expenses are partnership level versus separately stated to the partners, what types of credits are refundable vs nonrefundable, whether an deduction is above-the-line in arriving at AGI vs itemized deduction, etc.

All IRS publications

Tax forms

Just got back from REG exam. It was rough. Multiple choice
were definitely do-able, but was certainly stumped on the
simulations. I find there instructions or lack of to
certainly throw me for a loop. The written section and the
research questions were very straight forward and I had no
trouble with them. Hope it was good enough for a 75, but I
am doubtful!

Good luck to everyone else! On to BEC!

Just thought I should share....I am nearly bored to death.  This tax thing is so hard.  My exam is Nov 24. Just needed to vent.  I'm going to hit the books again at midnight until 4 or so.

I am bored to death also!!! I pushed my exam back to November 28, and i still feel like that's not enough time to learn this stuff!

Which review book are you using? I'm using Wiley, and i gave myself 8 days to do module 33, the individual income tax module. Day 4 and guess how many of the 219 multiple choice questions I've done? Three! I'm just getting more depressed and discouraged by the minute. :(
