In TN they will let you sit if your 200 days out from meeting the academic requirements(150 hours).

I thought passing it before I graduate or at least passing parts of it before hand would surely enable me to land a job before or by graduation. It hasn't worked out at all. I think I've emailed somebody at every decent size firm in Nashville. No Luck. I even got turned down for an internship at Crowe Horwath without even an interview. lol..I guess I'm not qualified to be an intern either.

It's hard to say whether passing cpa exams is a big plus for job hunting or not. Some of my friends said it helps because firms laid off people who can't pass them. But....one of my friend was laid off right after she passed all four parts. I think passing cpa is one thing at least we can do right now other than waiting for a job....

As far as i know, and also since I'm a big-4 employee, i can tell you getting CPA won't find you a job! the market is in a trough right now, but one thing for sure, passing CPA will enhance your chances of getting promoted faster than non-CPA workers and getting tons of $$$ in the future just for signing these reports

Depends on the market you live in... and the town... Here in my city, the employment rate in the teens, but we desperately need young CPA's. I would say having your CPA and not having your license makes a difference depending on where you live... and what area of accounting you are going into.

yeah, I asked a campus recruiter in an interview, she has almost the same opinion.....I think it's still useful though, taking accounting career seriously. I notice you are taking all four parts in one test window...Good luck to you!

Well, if anybody works in the Nashville area and your firm needs a hardworking new grad with hopefully all of his CPA passed please give me the hiring managers email. 3.69 GPA by the way.

All I want for Christmas is a JOB!!! lol

Sorry, about getting off track here. About those FAR scores....
