Hi all...

I've received Becker today and see that they have a study plan included in the book that shows that each week they recommend that you do the lecture, HW, flash cards, supplemental questions, and chapter simulations before moving on to the next chapter?

I work with someone who is currently studying and she said that she does the simulations and supplemental questions later instead of after the lecture and homework. However, she's only taken one part and failed. :(

What do you guys do? Anybody follow Becker's recommendation to the letter? 

I watch the lecture for each chapter, do the class problems, and study flashcards.  Once I am done with the lectures then I do all the homework problems and simulations mulitple times while I continue to study the flashcards over about a 4-6 week period.  I spend about 2-3 weeks on the lectures also (this is while working full-time and spending about 2 hours a day during the week and 4 hours a day on weekends sometimes more depending on how I feel).  So in all I took about 2.5 months to study for AUDIT using Becker (and supplementing with Wiley questions as well).

I just took my first part yesterday and feel really good about it.  I finished with an hour left.

I liked watching a lecture, doing the HW once, including supplementals.  Move on to next subject...go through all of them like that. 

Then come back to Ch.1, not watch the lecture again, yet print off the class notes from Becker and skim each chapter and add details to their outline and study that.  Do the hw one more time.  At this point I had printed off all homeworks (don't tell my boss, shhhhhh :-)) and in the 2nd go-round of mcq's, set aside any questions you got wrong, but most importantly write down on the piece of paper WHY you got it wrong.  This more than helped me remember details come exam time. 

Then I had a pile of all mcq's from all chapters that I got wrong on the second time around and all I did was study these and my outlines for the 2 to 3 days prior to the exam.  This helped weed out questions that were easy that you don't need to waste time on. 

Personally, I never did a simulated exam or simulations - looked at one to get a feel for the outline but that was it.  Quite honestly, I'm not all that sure they would have helped.
