1. CPA exam is easy, so passing it doesn't make you any more clever than anybody else. However, it shows that you can be persistent and able to achieve your goals. 2. Becoming a CPA makes you look more clever in the eyes of others, and the job interview questions become much less idiotic. So, maintain the image without being arrogant! 3. Don't listen to what others tell you (meaning - listen, but (1) find additional information that confirms the words of others, and (2) don't doubt yourself: you know your specific situation better than anybody else). Read regulations, ask your Board if you have any questions. 4. Don't look for excuses why you couldn't study today. 5. Set up the schedule! If you don't have a plan, you will be studying (or not studying) forever.

Hi Guys, I started with the FAR exam and have given it
twice and failed.
I don't know where exactly i'm lacking. I studied the
Becker material and practiced on the Wiley software.
Should I try giving BEC or any other exam or should i
stick to FAR and try to pass it?
Please suggest changes in approach or strategy that could
help me pass the exams within the designated time.

Divya, it's normal to take the FAR several times and fail. A lot of people go through the same experience. Technically, it would be preferable to take (and pass) the FAR first because of the 18-month deadline. If you take other parts and continue having troubles passing the FAR, you will (1) lose some of your credits, and (2) lose money. It's up to you, of course. It's possible that you would feel more motivated to re-take the FAR and feel more relaxed in general once you pass some other part.
As to your questions about what you are lacking: (1) What does your report say? What are your weakest areas? (2) What scores do you get when you take the study tests on the Wiley CD? If it's less than 85, don't bother to take the actual test. (3) Do you use new materials? If not, watch for the pronouncements that were recently changed (and are tested). (4) How long have you been preparing for the FAR? It's possible that you are not giving enough time to yourself.
