I would always try to get the concepts down. If you find yourself getting questions right just because you memorized the answer, ask yourself "Why is this the answer?" If you do that, you should be able to understand the material.
I think if you only have this problem with some concepts, you might be fine with passing the exam. If you have this issue with many sections of BEC, you might be in trouble.

I've just started studying for the CPA exam; I'm only a
Sophomore right now. But I figure it will give me that
extra 'edge' I need in class and on the exam after grad
