Maybe they have a group of elderly women inputting the
scores manually? Aside from that I can't fathom how this
process takes so long.

I heard it's seven dwarves whom are inputting all these score data.  They are working rigorously so give them some break.

Outsource the socre processing to India, they work 24/7! Literally!!

Now i'm starting to feel that a system where all scores are released on a prescheduled date would be better than continuously checking the NASBA website.  It's frustrating especially when you know it's "around" this time and your mind can't rest while at the same time studying for another section

Per @NASBA, BEC Wave 1 score release should be tonight 9pm EST (end of 48 biz hour wait period) if there are no technical difficulties - however, they have been known to happen.
