I have two weeks to go until I sit for my BEC exam for the second time!  I am almost done with chapter four and will be concentrating on the monster chapter#5.  To me Chapter 5 is the most time consuming with tons of calcs to do.  There are a few changes from the 2010 to the 2011 test in Becker.  Mainly corporate governance, throwing in a lot more audit questions, economics now covering more detail about globalization, section three on financial management has a new topic on Valuation Models, IT is the same, and chapter five the monster still has tons of calcs.  The test includes three essays and has eliminated the corporate structure (the easy part).  Good luck to everyone and happy heavy studying.  I really don't want to do this test again so anymore info on this would be much appreciated!

I hope I'm posting this information under the right forum. I took BEC
on today & it was a DOOZY (all caps). The test was all over the place
and in my honest opinion Becker & Wiley have not nailed down
exactly was the exam is testing regarding Corporate Governance.

I believe, can't say for certain that most if the pre-test questions
related to CG. Those if you that testing in this window should go a
little deeper. I have passed Auditing & could detect a small overlap. In
a nutshell, CG is new so learn it from top to bottom if you can.

The good news (if you want to call it that), anyone that had passed or
even failed FAR has a decent shot as the essays. It was 100% weird
to have to switch gears when it comes to the essays.

Also, I caution you to manage your timely wisely. I ended up having
20 minutes to write 3 essays because I spent time reviewing my
multiple choice answers. Give your self enough time b/c the essays
could be easy points for people that know FAR.

GOD forbid if I have to retake this test (hope not), but I wouldn't
spend more than a week or two reviewing....it's completely RANDOM
& CG & the essays are probably the decision makers.

imop...hope this helps someone.

Hey jazzchic,

If you refer to the now closed "2011 BEC exam experience"

you will see how a bunch of ppl and I felt similarly about the BEC exam. It
certainly had a special focus on the new materials and unfortunately many
of us felt the review materials whether it be Becker or Wiley, did not
adequately prepare us for what was coming.

As such, my feeling is "whatever I found to be difficult or Random, Im
sure others did too!" We all pretty much use the same review materials.

So lets just hope for the best!

Yeah, you guys made me nervous. I thought I did great
and now I'm second guessing myself. I hope we all did
well. I'm trying not to worry about it anymore.
