Steelers11 you should read the whole article.  http://goingconcern.com/2011/01/the-aicpa-talks-to-going-con cern-about-the-new-cpa-exam

It's an eye opener, but the good news is the AICPA will not be changing the passing score from 75 moving forward...... but....

@garagelife

“In terms of the score reported to candidates, right now
the passing score on that reported scale is a 75 and it’s
going to remain there because we want to have consistency
over time,”

The 75 score itself has no real basis, as the scores are
clearly manipulated so that X percentage of examiners
pass the exam. So really the only thing that remains
CONSISTENT over time, is the # of examiners who pass the
exam. For the last 10 years, BEC has had more or less the
same passing rate..

Hi, rhn5, do you think those new section is enough to study if i have Becker 2009 version + 2011 wiley? I probably will buy becker final review as the last minutes review.

And for the simulation, how's the NPV and IRR stuff? Do i need to calcualte or soomething? I am most worried about the writing.

thanks!

1) Corporate Governance and Operations Management in lieu
of Business Structures

2) Information Systems & Communication in lieu of IT

3) Strategic Planning in lieu of Planning Measurement &
Cost Measurement

And of course the new simulations - 3 writing sections,
memos to client re NPV vs. IRR, COSO, and the like

There was supposed to be some IFRS, though I haven't seen
it in the review materials I have covered thus far. It's
possible they will throw those in as sample exam
questions to gage answers of testers for future
reference.

How are the WCs? Are they similar to the old ones from the other three sections?

I dont see how BEC is the easiest of the four exams. There
is so much random material - I took REG and its simply
split into taxes and business law - this is just all over
the place!
