I'm writing BEC next week and this studying has been the worst ever. I went into my first three with a high degree of energy and motivation, even skipping Christmas and New Year's to study REG (no friends or family).  I know I need to knock BEC out of the park but the material is just so tedious.  I didn't have to struggle to find willpower on the other sections, only on this one.  I keep trying to talk myself into energy.  OK, this post has just talked me back into it.  I'm returning to my books now!!!  That's why this forum is here.

Dumbbuttrying...how were the REG simulations. One person posted
they were very obscure topics.

I'm not looking forward to them at all, but with them being worth 40%,
I'm more than NERVOUS.

This is a very tiring process, listen to your brain & body, sometimes
taking a break is the best. Last Friday night I 'zonked' out & did
nothing & it felt good. Saturday & Sunday were very productive b/c I
was refreshed.

Best of Luck!!!

Advice for those getting ready to take BEC: Don't focus on and make yourself crazy over any one topic while practicing for the WC. The chances of you getting a WC topic that you have practiced writing for is very slim unless you use your spare time to write essays on every topic covered in BEC. Instead practice writing for the practice WC's in your review material and carefully study the WC grading criteria. You will do fine on WC if you are familiar with the grading criteria, you have practiced, and you are confident.

So basically, the WC are similar to the ones from the three other subjects in the past? I'm not really getting how they would be making WCs for BEC, so just wondering.

@KIJ2011... That's my exact point. The written communication were
more closely associated to FAR or Auditing topics. Therefore, if you
have studied for either if those two, that knowledge will be helpful.

I would recommend skimming the essay topics available in whatever
testing materials you have. Read through 8 or 10 essays & it will help
you.

jazzchic- I described my experience with REG in the Reg Jan-Feb 11 threads but to summarize right here for your convenience, I didn't find the REG Sims to be off the wall.  Nothing in my REG exam (MCs or Sims) was brand new - everything was mentioned in Becker, if briefly, and sometimes only in Ancillary/Supplementals.

Getting back to this thread, which is about BEC, I'm thrilled about the WCs because they are a way to score easy points simply by being literate!!  I am convinced I only passed FAR and AUD thanks to WCs...  and if I failed REG this month, it was because I didn't quite reach the threshold due to no WCs in REG any longer.  :(

I have found BEC to be the most off-the-wall and hardest to study for.  I've resigned myself to seeing some crazy stuff on BEC next week.  Just trying to keep cool and read through the book again.  Four weeks ago in REG, I regretted working MCs my last week instead of reading the book, so for THIS test I'm reading the book again in my last week rather than hit MCs.  Here's hoping...
