Dear Leslie,

  1. I am a qualified Chartered Accountant from the ICAI, India having qualifed in May 2008 and having 3 years of post qualification work experience. I am practising in India.
  2. BCom from Goa University(India) with 77.43% (Distinction and Topper in College)
  3. HSSC(i.e. XI and XII) from Goa Board(India) with 8th Rank in Goa and 82%.
  4. SSC(Secondary School) from Goa Board(India)with 85.6%.
I wish to appear for the CPA, USA in the last quarter of 2011 or in first quarter of 2012. Considering the above, which of the states would I be eligible to appear in?

Thanks & Regards,
Asha.

Note to all of the above candidates, Indian CAs may have better options
than Colorado, you can email me at my email above if you would like
individual help. For several reasons, I don't like to give specific advice on
any forums as each candidate has their own set of circumstances that
need to be accounted for. Also, as state rules are constantly changing, if I
was to tell someone that state "X" was the one for them in a discussion
board and then a change occurred, it would appear that I was not giving
accurate information.

For example until recently, Colorado was willing to accept coursework
done towards an intermediate Indian CA or a cost/works accountant
towards the education credits needed to be eligible. They are now
reviewing this policy. If I told candidates in this discussion board that
they were eligible for Colorado with their BCom and Intermediate CA and
others saw this information and applied on that basis, they might feel as
though I was posting incorrect information, when in fact, all that I was
doing was posting current information. On the other hand, if you had
contacted me directly, I would be able to update you with the new
information and help you to try to find another state option.

hi all ca's

here is the link to colarado equirements.

http://www.nasba.org/862571B900737CED/ENL/COFTInfoSheet/$fil e/COFTInfoSheetOnly0311.pdf

when i filled my application the best help i got was the nasba.org site.

holding qualifications fom india myself, the only person qualified to evaluate your eligibilty is the evaluation agency of the state concerned. also the state itself can answer you queries on phone.
