Are u residence or citizen? If so, I think u will ultimately get it.

I came to the states in 2008 from China, and I must go back to my country on May 2012 if I don't get a sponsorship (work visa) from a company. It's even harder to get qualified experience then cause we are using Chinese GAAP and GAAS. I dont think it is easy to work under a qualified CPA in my country....

At least u have time.

I went to some accounting career fair. Base on different sources of info., it seems passing the exam before getting hired does not help that much, or I should say no plus on resume...

Anyway wish u all the best.

I am feeling weird right now.

I'm kind of hoping do it again. I have been anxious since I graduated on March. 6 months' job hunting with only one interview. Hope, and frustration back and forth every day. It's burning me.

Preparing the exam make me peaceful.....at least the CPA Exam is something more accessable than getting an entry level position in a CPA firm

I know it's ridiculous....

I ABOSOLUTELY agree with you. I had 3 interview recently and failed all (3 interviews for hundredsssss of resumes that I sent out). Even passing this last exam, I doubt if it would be any easier for me to land a CPA entry level job any time soon. Just keep praying T_T

Having gone through this myself and successfully leveraging passing sections of the CPA to a full-time opportunity, I disagree what you said, to some extent.  The CPA doesn't hold the prestige that it once enjoyed, but it will still do you good over the long run if other aspects of your job profile are solid. I will make a point, however,  that if you bargain solely on the fact that you are done with the exams, it will not make much of a difference.

CPA 2011 is right, passing CPA exams absolutely means something to recruiters. Indeed, I believe a large part that I was invited to the interviews was because I have passed 2 exams at the time and taken the third one. I am practicing my interviewing skills for the interview coming next Tuesday.

To daru, what States are u at now? I am at CA! I believe it should be easy for a person with US degree to get into big 4 in China. Tonssss of my friend was accepted into PWC or Deloitte in Macau and HK.

I am in New Hampshire now.

The snow is beautiful, love it so much :)

My hometown Canton is just like CA, hot and sunshine through the year.

I think u and CPA 2011 are right. Passing the exam is still an incredible thing. We know accounting much better.

Thanks guys
