im not sure what the average work hours are for non Big 4. However, my friend that is in tax at the Big 4 puts about 75-90. I'm pretty sure whoever told you they work up to 120 hours is extremely exaggerating...or probably just worked 120 once. Think about it. 120/7= 17 hours per day. I don't know anyone that would willingly work that much no matter how much you get paid. And big 4 sure as hell does not pay anything close to enough.

I worked around 50-60 hours a week for a top 10 national firm in tax. Max was about 70 for one week.
