You have to take the exam before the date your score expires.  Your score can arrive after that date, once it is a passing score. If you did not pass is when your score will expire.

I am in the same shoe, I called my jurisdiction and they told me that my Audit expires on October 31st.

As long as you sit for the exam before 11/30 and you pass i.e. even if you get the score in jan 2010, you are considered to have passed within the window. Essentially, if you think about it you passed or failed on the day you took the exam so if AICPA takes forever to grade the exam, should your credits expire...simple answer is NO!

What I noticed is that the TX board sets the expiration date 18 months from the date of your first passing score.  For example, I received my first passing score last August (took the exam in July) and so my credits begin to expire this coming February (not January).  I think each state does different things.
