The NASBA website says congratulatory letters from the April/May testing window will be mailed to candidates by August 15th.  AUGUST!!!!!  I need that letter!!  I have to submit it to our firm's independent auditor so that I can get my experience requirement signed off.

However, in checking the threads here from previous windows, various people reported getting the letter as much as a month earlier than the "official" NASBA date.

I honestly think NASBA has gone way overboard with the old marketing concept that says "take the real expected delivery date, add a generous fudge factor, and then you will have happy customers when they get 'early' delivery."

Does every state get congratulatory letters from NASBA?

I received my last passing grade over a month ago but haven't received anything else from NASBA.  I have already completed and submitted my CPA license application and the required ethics exam for my state.  Per the SC Board they have not received my scores from NASBA so they cannot process my application.  More waiting on NASBA, I guess it never ends...

I believe that every CPA-passer does get a congratulatory letter from their state.  I know that you do not need to receive it before you get to apply as its only meant to help you, it does not include any required forms that are not attainable elsewhere, etc...

I also need the congratulatory letter to get the money back from my employer and it would be nice to get that money back sooner rather than later.  Though, I suppose I can wait until August 15th if I have to.

The person at myfinanceandaccountingblog, got his score report and letter together on March 25, 2008 from the Jan/Feb window.  If that holds true to this window, we should get our reports soon too.  Goodness, I hope so.

NoStudyRequired and Seal:

My state is one of about 31 states whose letters actually come through CPA Examination Services, and not directly from the state board of CPAs.

I talked to my state coordinator today.  He said that timeframe posted by NASBA seems way out of line.  I hope so.

He also suggested that I not wait for the "welcome" letter, and proceed with copies of my CPA Examination Score Notices showing my scores and credit status.  I'm thinking it wouldn't hurt to have the copies notarized.  (This might be a bit anal but I'd rather add some overkill than miss the mark, especially as the blue background of those letters will show up on copies saying "Unauthorized Copy".)

Does the CA board sends a Cngratulatory letter for passing the CPA exams?

I spoke with CA Board. They said once they post PASS for the four exams under status for your online account, it takes between 2 to 3 weeks to send them out.

I let you know if that's an accurate time table. Should be getting it around mid-July then
