Depends on your education...

MBA or 150 credit hours... 1 year

Bachelor 120 credit hours... 2 years

Associates less than 120 credit hours... 4 years

If I have 2 years work experience in financial accounting for a publicly traded company, does anybody know the likelihood that they would discount my experience?  I have my B.A. and those two years but they are not public acctg. experience.  Anybody have a similar situation to mine that has received their license and permit for DE?

Hi Mike!

I am also in the same situation. I do not have public accounting experience.
I have two years of staff accountant experience and want to know if I am
qualified to apply for certificate/license from delaware board.

Did you get answer to your question?

Hi Mike and Ronak. I just saw this posting. Hopefully both of you were able to resolve your dilemas. As for my story, I'm in a similar situation as you, but my experience is in tax for 2yrs and my direct supervisor was not a cpa but my director who is one step up the chain of command was a cpa. I might have to find an employer w/ a cpa supervisor. Good luck to both of you!!
