More Q's: Accounting/review services, risks

Not so much: IT

I don't think I would have changed anything, since the SIMS are always a little different that what I had studied (at least that has been my experience in my 2 exams). It's just a matter of really working through them, and using the extensive research tab to your advantage. I studied hard, and I hope it was enough! I know it will be close like it was last time.

The SIMS weren't easy, one of them was more FAR related. I think I messed that one up a bit (since I wasn't studying FAR, and it threw me off), but on the others I think I did well enough to make it through. The extra time really helped though.

BEC - 5/9/11 - 75
AUD -7/5/11 - ? (I think I passed, as long as I did ok with the SIMS)
FAR - 8/29/11
REG - October 2011

Where is the original ad şu ¡°guarantees success on your first sitting¡±? How about changing it into guarantees success on your final sitting?

Well, since there¡¯s no more the original ad now, I¡¯m gonna change ¡°Adman¡± for ¡°Smartman, German, or Excusewoman ¡¡¡±

LOL!

I'm sure you did well........just try to focus on the present and try to forget about AUD for now.  FAR is much more challenging......

Good Luck!!!

Work sims.  Get sims in your head.  I did sims until I was sick of them.  Becker had good ones but Gleim was great for the sheer number of them.  There is a set of simulations (7) at the end of each and every study unit (20).  I worked all of them.  I also used the software with Gleim to make several 90 question sample tests pulling from all the possible questions.  I did the two Becker practice tests, and also the one in Wiley.  If you are using Becker and do not have Gleim, I highly recommend picking it up as well.  The sim practice was what really helped me.  I breezed through the multiple choice questions but found that I really would have had some difficulties on the sims for Audit if I had not had so much practice with a variety of types.

To Alcohen:

Have you ever used Gleim sims that cover 7 TBS or had a super future version of it???

Actually, all of Gleim sims contain either 5 or 6 TBS. Specifically, SU with even numbers plus SU3 include 5 TBS; and SU with odd numbers except SU3 have 6 TBS. To be honest, compared to its MCQs, Gleim sims seem less helpful except for the ONE -- pretest TBS!!!

LOL Wow!  I apologize for incorrectly stating that the end of each SU had 7 TBS!  I am simply trying to share my study techniques for the exam.  I nearly made a perfect score and all I care to do is help others out.  I did feel that the Gleim sims helped me beat the material in my head.  I did work every mc question in Becker twice and all available sims in that course as well.  I was just recommending the study technique that has worked for me so far...  In the middle of FAR studies right now.  Definitely a beast of an exam to study for.

I passed FAR with an 84 and didn't get completely through it. I was amazed. That exam is the most time consuming one of them all. I passed auditing after having only 2 hours of sleep and finishing the test in 2.5 hours. The lady at the front desk stopped me and said it is so unusual to take a 4 and half hour exam in that short of time. That sent chills down my spine.

If anyone is curious I just used Gleim manuals and went through them 3 times each. I ended up working over 12,000 mc. I kept stats.

My advice to anyone going the manual route. Get the latest and greatest. I sure screwed the pooch on my first 3 exam.
