Hey I did my chartered accountancy from Nepal and want to join CPAof NY. i read that we need to evaluate our qualification and need to send Form No.2. Am i right if i say , i have send form no.1, 2 and licensure fee all at once or shall i first send Form No.2 and wait for my evaluation results. since the evaluation documents are directly sent by the concerened institutes, am i supposed to send form no.1, 2 and pay check in the single envelope?????????? Actually whats the procedure..........need big help on this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Prakriti - you should send everything at once. Once your CA from Nepal has been evaluated by the NY Board, the Board will notify NASBA to complete your application. NASBA will then check back with the Board that your licensure fee has been paid.

Will you be staying in the US for a short period while you take the exam? If so, you check 'Non Immigrant' at question 20 on Form 1. In the space where you are asked to write your visa, registration or receipt number, you should write that you will be obtaining a visa in the future to travel to US to take the exam. Also include the name of the type of visa that you will obtain.

Once you are approved to sit the exam, NASBA can write a letter stating that you have qualified to sit the CPA Exam. This can help you obtain your visitors visa if you need to show the US Embassy your reason for visiting the US.
