Computers is not a good profession to go into. There are plenty of layoffs due to outsourcing to India.

"I'm a sophomore in college...

But I'm thinking about getting a finance or accounting
degree. If I choose finance, I'll still probably want a
Macc just because accounting will help one perform
better, and if I choose accounting, then a MAcc is
essentially a necessity. "

I'm also a college student.  I'm getting a 2nd degree in accounting.  My first BS is in legal studies.  However, after I graduate I was leanig toward doing an MBA rather than a Macc.  Nothing wrong with a Macc, but I got the impression from this forum and some others that an MBA has more opportunities than a Macc.

Inspired, do you have any evidence that the job market is better in engineering or computers?

your right everything is fine in accounting and finance.

I would argue that the IFRS would make it easier to outsource accounting.

You think engineering is less cutthroat than accounting and finance?

...Well, maybe finance.

Indeed.  Computers is a lot worse.  I'm a former IT person who had to quit and go the CPA route.
