Ok, I used to think the Macc was worthless, but all these recent threads have me thinking otherwise.

My school offers a Macc program that I could easily jump in and finish 9 months just after the MBA.  Likewise, they guarantee paid busy season internships.

I know Legend just posted he may do both the MBA and the MACC.  Can someone tell me more about this?  I enjoy learning and feel accounting is pretty cool, but I'm having a hard time seeing a big jump in stature with a MACC degree.

Some schools offer a M.S. in Accounting, would this be worth less than a Macc?  Why would you do a Macc anyway if you already have the CPA requirements and have passed the exam?  For prestige?

Macc=could be valuable but it's not a deal breaker or deal maker.  You're paying for a second round of being a student during campus recruiting.  I've had partners from B4, regional firms, and local firms tell me that they don't care if you have a Macc or or an accounting degree and 30 hours of underwater basket weaving.  However, it will help you with getting on with the government probably.

I was originally planning to do a Macc, but I am leaning toward an MBA since I think it provides more job opportunities.  Plus, once I graduate in 2012, I will already have an undergrad accounting degree.  The benefits of a Macc are maximized, in my opinion, when one lacks an undergrad accounting degree and wants to make a career switch.

I'm probably going to do a part-time MBA some time after I start work since my employer will pay for it and I really don't live near any decent schools.
