Ugh you guys are not making me feel good :/ Taking REG for the first time on the 31st and I haven't studied nearly as much as I did for my last one (AUD) which I know is backwards and not good. I've probably studied 150 hours?
Question: A couple people I've talked to that took it recently said their test focused A LOT on business law, then a bit of corporate taxation, and NO individual taxation. Anyone else have that experience? I WANT that experience, I'm great at the law part. *sigh*

Well, I breezed through law on the exam but don't get
discouraged - I have a friend that studied for
3 weeks and passed, granted he was fresh out of tax
season but everybody hits their "low spots" on the exam.
This is clearly one of mine. Just follow your review
program's instructions. Plenty of people pass this exam
so keep your chin up, you'll get there. Maybe just use
these stories you read as motivation when you're feeling
like you don't want to study. ;-)

If only the exam had a lot of Business Law on it, I would pass with flying
colors, but too bad they don't ask much of it :(...A lot is on corporations and
partnerships (at least in my experience) and some on individual tax.

BrookeS,
study everything. BL is important, but you never know what the real proportion would be. I've experienced both: a lot of BL and lot of tax exams. It didn't help me...

I just came home from re-taking REG and it was brutal. I couldn't believe how many calculation questions there were...in comparison to theory only. They just kept coming. Then, the sims were just as awful. EVERY sim was a fill in the blank calculation problem (except research of course)...and not the easy kind where you click the box and a list of answers pop up...no way...that would've been too easy!
I already know to start studying again for REG in July. Of course this time I will focus on the calcs and it will be all theory on the next test. Ugh...Ugh...Ugh
