Hello,

can anybody let me know that where I can take an on-line auditing course that can fix the defecencies reported for my inicial colorado license under education in lieu of experience.

A course that will need to provide me the follows:

Three semester hours (four quarter hours) of auditing is required that must address GAAS (Generally Accepted Auditing Standards). The remaining three semester hours (four quarter hours) may be in advanced auditing or a subset of basic auditing such as fraud or information technology auditing.

There are lots of on-line course & colleges that pops-up when I google it out but haven't used one before and few of them are also fake or fraud ones and don't want to get into such situation. Thus I am looking for any on-line college or course that has been tried & tested by some one and is a genuine so the above mentioned audit requirement can be fulfilled.

I passed all sections of CPA exam, passed AICPA Ethics test, passed Colorado Rules & regulations course (CR&R), have 150+ credits (I am a B.Com, M.Com from India) So all in all have fulfilled all requirements that the CO board needs but just received an email yesterday stating the following:

NEED CONFIRMATION THAT AUDIT COVERS GAAS

Now how do I fix this one, I called them and one of the representative mentioned that have to get a letter or confirmation from one of my college professor back from my home (India) that will state that the audit courses covered GAAS. I am sure that the subject Advance Accountancy & Auditing Covered during my 2nd & 3rd year covered a whole lot of audit topics. Moreover, it is difficult for me to get such letter as i finished my college in year 2000 and don't know whether that professors are there or not (retiered or moved to other work place)

Below is my situation just in case:

My basic question is has anyone run into such scenario and if so how was it fix?

Is it possible to take some study courses on-line or in community college to fix this Defeciency.

Please anyone having some solution on this reply urgently and please treat this as urgent as I am having only 60 days to fix this otherwise will have to start from very first.

Appreciate help or comments or suggestions from anyone.

This seems like a pretty easy fix. You can either look in the course catalog and see if the description of the Audit couses you have taken previously specifically references GAAS. If not, email the school college of business and have them provide something in writing.

If the course did not include GAAS then I think any basic AUDIT course at a community or local college would suffice.

Thanks a lot PINKCPA & appreciate all your co-operation & help. Actually I won't need the Audit course as my university Accounting Dept. head provided me a letter of confirmation about covering GAAS and my application for CPA Licensure in the State of Colorado has been approved. The Colorado State Board has requested to submit a paper application with signature to accompany my already done online application, which I already took care of and just a waiting of another 7 to 10 days and will be provided with a license # and a certificate/license will be mailed out.

will keep updated as it moves.

Hi bhagyesh,
How is your CPA license going?
I am in the same boat like you. I also applied for CO CPA license without work experience. After submitting my application online, they sent me an email that indicating my scanned documents should be in PDF format, and some missing evaluation credits of my courses. I followed their instruction to put my documents in PDF version and explained the missing credits were non-credit courses. However, after more than 40 days, I haven't heard anything from them. It already passed the 60 days timeline for the initial application.
I don't know what happened.
May I ask that how long had you waited for to receive their response?
Anyone has any ideas about this?

Thanks and good luck!

Hello cocacpa,

I just got my license # online and waiting for the actual wallet license that should be in mail and would be receiving anytime this week. I took around 2 months for me to get the license after submitting my application. I think they always miss something or the other and send you e-mail for fulfilling the deficiences, it happened to me also and had to explain them just like in your case but the matter was other. However, you should be able to get the direct e-mail of the person handling your evaluation & verification for licensing and then if wanna talk over the phone, call the general # & tell them to transfer it over to the person handling your application. So the imp. thing that matters first is getting the direct e-mail, name & ext. for the person handling your stuff. In my case i found the persons ext., name & e-mail from the e-mail that was send out for the audit confirmation. Going direct with the person handling your application makes things much easier and quicker. don't be ashamed or concern, keep on calling or e-mailing till you don't get a reasonable confirmation like it's in process & you need to wait or you need no action at this time. keep following........don't leave.......

Let me inform you that once the application has been approved by NASBA it will be forwarded to CO Accountancy & LIcensing Board. All applications are sent out every friday in bulk. Once application is sent it takes 2 to 3 weeks for getting the license in mail but you should be able to find it online within a week or so.

Best of luck,
