Do give up so fast. You might have the CPA Gods working in your favor. I am in the same situation as you are. But i dont even have a license from any other state. I reside in PA and passed the exams. I work as a cost accountant but dont have any "Attest" experience. After doing some research, Pa is only one of few states that require such experience. Due to this burden lot of aspiring CPA candidates were moving out of the state.
Well, now there is a bill floating around in the PA House of Rep. assembly to give away with the 25% attestation requirement. i been following the bill religiously. It passed the House with 199-0 votes (yes!!!) and moved on to the PA senate. But due the lame duck senate scheduling, they only meet a few times a month. So, if they are going to decide on it (if for 2012), then it would be probably in Nov 2012. If they pass, then i could apply for the license because i could use industry experience (non audit) to count towards the license.
