Has anyone else been waiting an extremely long time for their license in NY State?
I've been waiting well over 3 months, and the Board refuses to provide any updates to me on the status of my application.
I just wanted to find out if this same problem has been encountered by anyone else waiting in NY state?

I have been experiencing the same. I sent my work experience documents for approval by the end of March and it took them some time to log it ino their system a sthey had a backlog. I have been told that the Board received the forms on June 5 and that they have a baklog of 8 weeks. It is ridiculous that after all the effort you put into this, there is still such a long wait that you have to deal with.

I finally received my license today. I am finally officially a CPA. Good luck to all those who are waiting.

File sent to Board: 8/2/12 Waiting time: 8 to 10 weeks No updates as yet.
Looks like May 2009 took 7 weeks from the date his file went to the board. Can others share their experience?
They had my form 4B since May but completed my education review in July. Do they wait to complete education review before starting experience review? Are there any steps thereafter? Can someone shed some light?

I had my experience sent to the board for review on August 19th. I called the office of professions on Friday October 6 to find out the status. I was told by the representative that there was a huge backlog as far back as June 2012. She suggested I be patient because there was no guarantee I would get it in 16 weeks much less 8.
And this is why people like me call for privatization and less government. The agency is littered with lazy ineffective tax suckers who work at a fraction of the time accountants like me in the private sector work. And after paying all the money for registration, exam fees, etc, they still take all the time before sending the license as though they were doing one a favor...(sorry for venting on this forum, I'm just annoyed).
