So I have a Juris Doctor (and a licensed attorney), MBA (top 50 US B school), and an LL.M. in Taxation from NYU (#1), and am currently a 3rd year ITS Senior Manager in a global accounting firm doing international corporate tax work. 

If I had the means, and I want to work in a top financial institution doing TAX work, would the CFA help?

All else being equal having a CFA will help, of course. But since you already have an MBA I'd think carefully about the
difference between CFA and MBA...
