Hello everyone, looking for some guidance/experiences.

I live in Canada and became licensed in DE in Sept 2009 and received a certificate and permit to practice. The permit has now come up for renewal but I dont have any Taxation CPE hours as my work is mostly related to accounting. I dont envision getting into taxation either so tough for me to go for CPE hours related to taxation.

DE board has an exemption clause from CPE hours for foreign residents. Have any of you availed it successfully? I dont mind going from active to inactive status but from talking to the DE CPA society on the phone, sounds like that isnt even an option under the 1 tier system.

I dont want to lose the CPA designation completely after having work so hard for it so appreciate any suggestions to help solve this problem.

Thanks.

Hello yorkquay,

I hope you already resolve your problem.

I actually relocated to California from Canada several years ago.Does the Tax CPE hours are mandatory? I have quite a few co-workers has California CPA license and they are not doing tax work. I guess maybe you can consider to transfer your license to other states?

If you can, I am trying to apply Delaware CPA license. I need advice with applying tips from you. My e-mail is cindy.chenqian@gmail.com

I would appreciate it if you can contact me.

Cindy
