Hi Nishvik,

You already have good business education background. That should help you in BEC and some part of REG. As far as preparation, I just used Becker and worked all problems and simulations and that worked for me. If you are consistent and devote 2-3 hours on weekdays and 5-6 hours on weekend for studies, you should be fine. You will also find some good advice related to preparation on this forum.

Hi Jay,

I wanted your suggestion on my query,

What if I pass cpa exam from state board which allows me to sit for exam and I get the cpa certificate from that state

WIll i able to work in VA on that certificate?

Say if I get license thru that state will I able to work in VA on that state License

I dont intend to practice CPA .Just want H1 sponsorship from any finance or accounting company?

Please If you could help me with that...

Yes, you should be able to work in VA in any company but you will not be able to practice in VA if you do not have VA License.

Thanks for the reply..

Actually I contacted VA voard and they told me that i cannot use cpa designation to apply for jobs if I dont have cpa license from VA.

Actually I dont plan to work in proper accounting job..may be smthin related to finance ..SO would I require license to work in VA..

I am good to give exam but jus worried with this VA license thing coz u have to renew license annually and CPE rquirement n all..Is it manageable?

Please Suggest..
