HI POOJA,

Don't give up, when you see my BEC, you will know I am in the same boat with you. I understand you feeling.

I'm using Becker, I think Becker's pass master prepare me well enough for pass, the questions are very similar to real exam, and even I got one or two questions almost same from PassMaster's.

I prepared this round in two weeks with 3 days off my job. I looked all lectures as my start to review the book. And do the PassMaster.
First time I just do every question in Passmaster, then mark all questions I got wrong and also questions I got correct but uncertain. At last I do those marked questions  before my test.

That is how I did. The other things want to mention, I looked my report from the last failed exam, I put more attention on my Weaker part when I read through the book. This round the weaker part I did last time become the stronger part.

Hope it will help you a little bit. Good Luck.

thank you so much for your help

i used becker for AUD 3 times and could not pass, i switched to yaeger hs and just passed with an 83. not sure if it was due to yaeger or because i tweaked my study strategy. here is what i did

i started taking crazy notes. for each module i viewed the lecture and took notes on everything gary said that i did not know or thought was important. after the lecture i read the module (even read the SAS's in the back) and added on to my notes. then did all mcq for that module and added more to my notes. i did this till all modules were complete

then i went back and reread module 1 notes. after i reread them i did all mcq on the wiley cd test bank for that module and added more to my notes. i did this for all modules

i saved SIMS for last and did all of them in the wiley cd test bank and becker passmaster software and took more notes. after all the note taking i ended up with about 60 pages of notes typed up in MS word. i rewrote all 60 pages of notes by hand (a suggestion i got from .com)

about a week before the exam i took the 2 final practice tests in becker and 1 final practice test in the back of the wiley book to gage where i was at. from this time till exam day, i read my notes over and over everyday and did 20 mcq quizzes on cpareviewforfree.com occasionally

from the beginning of the process i typed up the different audit reports, ratios and equations, and a step by step audit engagement i found on cpareviewforfree.com and would read them every morning while doing my 30 min cardio at the gym

AUD questions can be soooooo detail oriented so during the exam i made sure i read each question slowly. i also made sure i read all answers before choosing, even if it was a question i saw that was word for word in the review

hope this helps, good luck!!!

Thanks for prompt reply.

Can anyone comment on the authoritative literature for AUD?  Is it helpful for any of the tabs (besides the research tab)?

Yes, as long as you have the necessary time and ability to search it.

Pooja,

My theory is this: I can know material, but that's not
going to do me any good if I don't know how it is going
to be asked.

So, I do the mcq over and over and over again until I can
mindlessly get the right answer. You HAVE to know why and
how you got to the answer though otherwise, doing the mcq
is pointless. Learning from your wrong answers is super
important too.

I used Becker bc it has a big database of mcq's. The
lectures are eh. I zoned out on some of the 1.5 / 2 hrs
lectures. You'll notice that most of the questions are
asking about the same concepts just worded slightly
different.

The authoritative literature in the simulations are way
helpful if you know how to search the correct keywords.
In my experience, I had a sufficient amount of time to go
and search some of the material on the task-based sims.
You have to learn how to skim the literature, otherwise
you're being inefficient.
