I am currently sitting for the CPA exam in state of MA board with masters
degree in accounting (MSA). I am interested in working as a CPA in state
of Colorado.
I have a MSA degree, 150credits, etc. How would I go about doing this? I
found the following info from Colorado state board. Do I have to take
AICPA ethics exam? (not a big deal if I do) It appears the ethics exam isn't
required for Colorado first-time applicants who have 150credits, but it is
required (as stated below) for reciprocity? I am not sure how to go about
this. Also, as I still have 2 sections to go, would it make sense to switch
jurisdictions or something? I'm guessing not and go the reciprocity route,
but I could use some guidance here if anyone is familiar. Thanks very
much!

"5.1 APPLICANTS HOLDING A CPA CERTIFICATE FROM ANOTHER U.S.
JURISDICTION
A. The Board may issue a CPA certificate to a holder of a certificate,
license or permit in Active
status issued by another U.S. licensing jurisdiction provided the
Applicant:
1. meets the Substantial Equivalency requirements defined in Chapter 1;
2. attests to having completed at least 80 hours of CPE within two years
immediately
preceding the application receipt date; and
3. also completes and passes the AICPA Ethics Examination and two hours
of CR&R within
two years immediately preceding the application receipt date.
B. An Applicant who holds a certificate, license or permit from another
U.S. licensing jurisdiction
based upon passage of the Examination but who does not hold a license
to practice shall not be
eligible for reciprocity.
C. The Board may rely on NASBA, the AICPA or other professional bodies
deemed acceptable to the
Board for evaluation of other jurisdictions' CPA qualification requirements
in making Substantial
Equivalency determinations. "

I guess my question is: should I pass in MA and apply for licensure in MA
and try to get reciprocity in CO? To my knowledge I do not need work
experience in state of MA because I have MSA.

or should I pass in MA (like I am now) and immediately apply for licensure
in CO?
