Hello everyone,

Sorry for hearing some of you failed for BEC. When I finished my BEC on Nov. 28, walking out of the testing center, I thought I was going to fail because a half of the theory questions I was not sure, and about 15 questions I was totally guessing. When I checked my score with a 86,I couldn't believe my eyes. But I was surprisingly happy, of course.
I think the reason I passed because how they graded differently according to the difficulty. I got a lot of calculation questions at least 30 out of 90. And I knew I did pretty good with this part. I think they probably gave calculations more weights than theories. So, try to be prepared on calculations and they truly count.
Also, don't be too much discouraged by the practice final exam on becker review. I only had time to do the first exam once with becker got about 60%, and this was another reason I thought I was going to fail.
BEC was my first ever test, and I have 3 to go, a long way....

Good luck to all of us!!

I just got back on where I did compared to other candidates.  I was shocked when I did so poorly on economics 20 percentage lower than the average candidate who passed which obviously was the reason I didn't pass with a 73.  Wow I thought I actually nailed down that portion but I guess I must of read the questions wrong!  In fact Business Structures were the second lowest score and with Becker I scored in the 80's on both these subjects for the MC and on the others I scored in the 60's yet did well on the exam on the other three subjects!  I knew nothing about IT yet it was one of my best scores.  You can just never tell how the heck you will do on BEC regardless.  Just study and cross your fingers for the best!  January 17th here I come again.

I got my result too. I had 71. T-T

Most of questions that I haven't seen in Becker's BEC book and practice questions.

I didn't know how to answer most questions on actual exam.

I had spent many many hours on reading the book, doing hw and final exam questions.

Every day I get home is studying, studying, and studying. No life for me when I am studying for the BEC.

But what I get is 71. Should I purchase Gleim for additonal practice MC questions?

Please advice. Thanks.

I got a 71 too sadly. It's my first CPA test and I gota say, it's a spirit killer lol. I was hoping to pass the first part and use that momentum to carry me through!!! I ordered my REG stuff already but now that I failed BEC, my schedule is all F'ed.

Anyways good luck to all of us. Our time will come soon enough.

Some people fly through BEC with no problem.  Audit was like that for me.  But when I got to BEC (my last section), I was struggling.

I used Becker, and started reading about everyone's failing because Becker had a terrible IT section.  I knew I was not going to breeze through it.  I bought a Wiley book to do the problems (which helped some what).

I still didn't feel like I could climb the wall, so I bought Yeager BEC section off of E-BAY.  I highly recommend this!  I went through the DVD lectures, went back to Becker Books, and it all came together. I read the Becker book and did Yeager DVD lectures twice for sections 1, 3, 5.

For IT part, I read Yeager and becker books once and hoped some of it would stick.

BEC was my worst section.  I think the Becker/Yeager leacture combo was the ticket for me.  Make your own flash cards.  I had a ton of flash cards for all those definitions and equations - but it really helped.  I passed with an 85.
