I think so.  I think I mailed in a check along with my application for license, ethics CPE, work experience, etc.  Once approved, I was locked out from logging in as a candidate.  I then logged in as a license holder for the first time and had to pay a different fee there.

Yea, I mailed a $50 fee along with ethics, work experience, etc.  So once I become a CPA I will have to pay a fee to officially become a CPA.  Interesting.

Since it helped me cope with the waiting process, I wanted to post my timeline of licensure.  I passed my last exam in the July/August testing window so it seems to have taken much less time for the entire process than for previous posters.  My theory is that usually most CPA exam sections are taken in the 4th quarter of the year and so the state is inundated with licensure applications in January, so it takes ~2 months then.  Since I mailed in my packet on October 9th, it has been exactly 2 weeks. Horray, it is finally over!

9/24/09 - Received passing score

9/26/09 - Received licensure application packet

10/9/09 - Mailed out completed packet to TSBPA via certified mail

10/10/09 - Per USPS, TSBPA received packet

10/16/09 - Overall status: CPA certification in process; Certificate fee received: 0005000; Date fee received: 10/13/2009

- Email received f/ John Kayes @ TSBPA: We are okaying you for the license now.  Thanks, John

10/20/09 - Ethics hours: 4; Date ethics hours processed: 9/2/09; Months of public experience: 26; Score on the exam on the rules of professional conduct: 092

10/22/09 - Name shows up under Individual Licensee lookup on TSBPA website; CPA Candidate login closed, CPA Licensee login opened; received CPA certification letter via email and paid $250 fee online.

10/23/09 - Licensee status changed to "Issued"

You should have it in 1-3 weeks, depending on the Board.  Once you are unable to log in as a candidate you should immediately go search for yourself as a licensed CPA (use last name, city, etc.).  The url will contain your six digit certificate number (mine is 0918**).  That will be your username for purposes of logging in as an individual licensee, just use your candidate password.  Once in you can pay your other fee, after that is received you will be a 7-10 days from calling yourself a CPA.

I can no longer log in as a candidate. All my ethics score, hours, work exp etc was up during the week. This morning I cannot log in, and I also cannot find myself on a individual license lookup.

This whole process just been so frustrating! Any ideas?

@spstarla78 - Thank you so very much for the detailed timeline.  I am at the third last step from your list as of now.

Looks like John Kays is responsible for sending everyone the good news:)  I received my email from him on 1/12/11.  I called the Qualifications division yesterday and inquired why my status still reads "CPA Certification in process".  They updated it last night itself with all the info.  I also scored 92 on COC:)  Hope to log in as a licensee in next couple of days:)
