What kind of taxes are you preparing, are they just indiv or does it also include, corps, partnerships etc? If both then I would write tax accountant seeing that you most likely are applying for accounting positions. If just individual it would be appropriate to write Tax preparer, atleast thats what I would write.
I've used Quickbooks and peachtree in my previous jobs . Now when I look at job postings they ask for either deltek or hyperion or great plains e.t.c
That is stopping me from applying to those firms.
Even for tax prep related jobs they ask for pro fx , cch e.t.c
Not having experience with one of the softwares should not be a deterrant for applying to the firms, unless the firms are looking for someone with programming experience in the software. If you can pass your cpa exams then can certainly learn how to use and manifulate the functionality of software programs.
I think you should indicate that you are a tax accountant.
My profile indicates that I am a Tax Associate, but I think any tag would do just make sure to outline your job description properly and all will be well.
