My recommendation is to find an MBA program in accounting and skip the 2nd BS. I got news for you, even after graduating with that, you still won't feel confident in taking the CPA. That will take Becker or Wiley or Gliem etc.

That kind of brings me back to my original question/dilema: bachelors from DeVry with Macc from Good School plus CPA exam passed (hypothetical), or Bachelor and Macc from Good School plus CPA exam passed? what do you think?

It's a tough decision. What "good school" are we talking about anyway? If you don't want to disclose the name, that is fine. But is it prestigious? What was yoru GPA from DeVry? if it was bad, a 2nd BS might be a good option since you can use your new GPA to "over-ride" your old one. And since you will be repeating classes, I am sure your new GPA will be higher.

I would do the Devry bachelor and the Masters from good school +CPA. I think once you get employed, you will be thankful you didn't waste time with the second BS degree.

This advice is coming from a BS in math from not so good school. I had the time and money to do a second BS, (actually took a few classes there) and most of the teachers said just go for the Masters. I'm now sitting for CPA and using Becker and realized that sitting for the exam is about studying to pass the exam and NOT necessarily learning the material the teach for the accounting classes.

You have a much lower chance of passing the CPA Exam if you don't understand the material well. That's the big difference between Yaeger, which teaches you the concepts, and Becker, which just teaches you to cram for the test. That's why Yaeger people do better on the exam on the whole compared to the Becker folks.
