Hey,

So I just took AUD yesterday and here are some of my thoughts...

MC - I found the MC to be much more detailed than the first time I took this exam. I think I did pretty well on the first testlet, and my second testlet was noticably more difficult w/ obscure references to AUs and confusingly worded questions and scenarios. My third testlet was a bit more manageable, but overall the MC questions as a whole were much more thorough than in my previous attempt.

Simulations - For once these simulations were not out of left field. They were all definitely manageable, w/ the last one being the most difficult (there were 7 simulations in total). I received two authoritative literature questions which took ~2 minutes to solve each. Overall, these simulations were much better than the ones I've seen in the past.

How I studied - I used Becker CPA the first time I took this exam and thought it was pretty good for teaching the subject. This time around I used Bisk which I surprisingly found to be a great read (for the exam of course, this is definitely not pleasure reading). I also found it SO HELPFUL to read over the Auditing Standards on the website. This is just as good as reading a review book IMO. Here's the website: http://pcaobus.org/Standards/Auditing/Pages/default.aspx

Hopefully I did well enough to pass. I really don't want to take the time to study for this one again. Good luck to all those that are studying for this one, and the other exams.

I did have two research questions. I do not know if it is a good sign or not.

I'm not exactly sure on how the exam is scored, but I don't think that having two research questions means you did better or worse than the rest. I don't know if one of the research questions was a "test" question that they may not use in scoring, or if having two research questions means that it will be harder to differentiate yourself from the other people that had two research simulations b/c the research ones are fairly easy.

We'll have to wait for the scores to come out to know more. I'll post mine here when I receive it in a couple of weeks.

Good luck!

Thanks for the well wishes. Congrats on passing the two most comprehensive and difficult exams, IMO. Good luck on the rest.
