I made a 68 on FARE in August after spending a year with Gliem trying to prepare for FAR.

I need a teacher!  Gleim does not have any lectures.  Their audio and books are useless to me.  That is the weakness of Gleim for those of us who need good lectures and good teachers.

I only use Gleim in their Test Mode AFTER I have reviewed the material with Yaeger.  I will continue to buy Gleim's Test Prep, but I will no longer buy their full online course.

I agree 100% if you need a teacher then Gleim would not be the best method.

I study independently far better than I do in a classroom or DVD watching session.  It allows me to study at my own pace and reread what doesn't make sense. I studied for three months about 10 hours a week (reading and practice M/C questions).  I had covered all the sections with two weeks prior to my testing date.  I spent the last two weeks reviewing material I did not perform well on based upon Gleim's diagnostic results from my testing and study sessions.  I also reread topics requiring topic and formula memorization/Acronyms.

I think it is just a case for finding what works best for you and going with it.  I used the same methodolgy for each section of the exam so far.  I just had to make a schedule and stick to it. Again, I cannot comment on the online lecture, so I would have to rely on what you said.

Good luck.

I scored a 74 on BEC using Gleim  I was determined to not get a failing score so I purchased Yaeger Cram.  To my surprise, I ended with another failing score 70.  I was very upset.  I will continue to use the combination I got though because I can not afford to buy anything else.

I am currently studying for BEC. I am using the Gleim
book and software. What would be a good study approach?

I have the 2008 Gleim Materials that I bought sometime in August/September of 2008.  I plan on using them to study for the exam this year.

How outdated are they?  I already spent hundreds of dollars on the 07 CPA Review books I needed for review classes I took in school, and upgraded to the 08 books when I thought I was taking the exam last year.  I really don't want to spend another several hundred on 09 books unless it's absolutely necessary I need them to pass the exam.

Any thoughts on this?  Can I pass the exam with the 08 books or is the material too outdated?

Christine
