I agree 100% if you need a teacher then Gleim would not be the best method.
I study independently far better than I do in a classroom or DVD watching session. It allows me to study at my own pace and reread what doesn't make sense. I studied for three months about 10 hours a week (reading and practice M/C questions). I had covered all the sections with two weeks prior to my testing date. I spent the last two weeks reviewing material I did not perform well on based upon Gleim's diagnostic results from my testing and study sessions. I also reread topics requiring topic and formula memorization/Acronyms.
I think it is just a case for finding what works best for you and going with it. I used the same methodolgy for each section of the exam so far. I just had to make a schedule and stick to it. Again, I cannot comment on the online lecture, so I would have to rely on what you said.
