Anyone use Gleim for the Enrolled Agent (EA) exam? Im using the IRS material right now but it seems like Gleim may be the smarter way to go

I am and have passed SEE1 and SEE2.  I have SEE3 coming up in early August.  I got the MCQ CDs and books but never cracked the books.  So I'd recommend you just get the test prep MCQs and download them to save on postage.

I just took the Gleim online practice REG exam at
http://www.gleim.com/accounting/cpa/practice_exam.php

Score - 82.97%, with 25 minutes left on the clock.

Not too bad. I've heard many say that Gleim is more difficult than the actual exam.

One week from tomorrow is the real deal....and I've got Friday on until the exam freed up to CRAM!

I'm on my last unit of Gleim and taking the exam on July 17th.  Consistently throughout every unit, I've made notes from the Gleim book then done the MC at the end of the unit, then used the test prep CD and I've been doing fairly well (usually averaging 75 and above).  My problem is the Gleim units seem so long at times and then I go to the test prep cd and large amounts of the stuff I've made notes on never have any questions pertaining to them or not in as much detail.

Is it that Gleim has excessive content in hopes of covering every possible question?  Cause it feels like such a waste to try to memorize all those details and then not get questions on the with the testprep cd.  I'm going to do my final review shortly and don't want to get bogged down trying to learn too much.

What is the 1 year work experience in 1 year rule?

After you complete your last exam, the state sends you a licensure kit.  You have 12 months to send it back showing you've met the education requirements and the 1 year of work experience requirement.  So essentially, if you don't have a job being supervised by a CPA essentially the day after you finish the exam, you won't get that work experience within 1 year to get your license.  After that your scores will expire.

There has been much discussion about whether or not a candidate can just send in the kit without the year of work experience just to prevent the scores from expiriing but nobody has been able to confirm that.  There has also been some discussion about extending the length of time that candidates have to get the 1 year of work experience (which is what my signature refers to) but I haven't heard anything about the outcome of that yet.

I see.

What does the state (I am in Florida too) require to be sent in to verify the experience? I've already got nearly two years at a CPA firm - I do not work there anymore though. Will I need to get something from the partners attesting to the fact that I worked there or will the state just take my word for it?
