onecpachick: If your boss held an active CPA license at the time you worked for him, it would satisfy the experience requirement.
"Experience obtained through nonpublic accounting will be considered to have met the general experience requirement only if it was performed under the supervision of an individual holding a valid active license to practice public accounting in the United States."
http://www.dca.ca.gov/cba/publications/applbook.pdf

Did your boss hold an active license?

calvol - Thank you for your response.  I do not know if his license was valid at that time so I will have to make contact with him and ask.... *keeping my fingers crossed!!!*

Do I need to wait to send in my license application until I get an official score report in the mail from CA?  Also, does anyone know if I need to resend all my transcripts if they were already sent when applying for the exam?

Thanks!

JGWCPA - that's a great question...I was wondering the same thing as well...I had sent my transcripts long ago directly from State universities to Board of Accountancy.  however my status didn't seem to reflect that when I log into my account...maybe I need to give them a call?  I was going to wait until they make all my scores official...waiting for the PASS!!!

If you send in your license appliation before all the documents/results, I don't think it speeds the process, as it will just sit in a non-completed basket, until the results are in. I read on the Texas forum, they think it actually takes longer if you don't synchronize your application with the other documents/results. Just speculation, FWIW.
