Hi,

I am wondering when I can take the fingerprint (livescan).  Do I need to wait until Offical score is posted or can I go to the livescan with preliminary score?  Or, can I do even earlier?

Thanks

11/18/08 - Found out all exams have been passed

12/7/08 - Livescan completed

1/1/09 - 4/15/09 - Tax Season. Too busy.

4/22/09 - Submitted Application. Boss sent in experience papers.

4/28/09 - Initial application fee for $250 cashed.

5/6/09 - Received card that Application Received

5/8/09 - Received Notice that Application is Completed

5/14/09 - Received Congrats Letter from Board

5/15/09 - Sent in White/Green Cards

5/21/09 - Name shows up on license lookup.

5/22/09 - Receive white card with license number.

5/22/09 - Initial license fee $100 cashed.

That's so far. I'm impressed at how diligent/efficient the Board has gotten compared to some of the other stories I've heard.

gm_Simon: I hope the same happens for me, here's where I'm at...

Passed 4 parts and ethics exam 2007

6/2/09 - Attest & General experience signed and sent to CBA by partner (pathway 2)

6/3/09 - Sent application package with $250 check (general app., live scan copy and criminal background)

----Crossing my fingers this is a fast process----

Everyone at my work told me to expect 5 to 6 months before I'm finally licensed, however, I'm noticing the last couple posts where people have been going through the process faster.

Can someone please advice me?

After reading the requirements from the CA board, it seems that attest experience- public accounting is needed.  Does that mean only auditing experience will satisfy the requirements?

I know people that go into tax or industry.  Would those experience count?

I am currently unemployed and trying to find a job.  I need to know what I should be looking for.

Thanks in advance.

MsCPA: In California, you may get licensed as a "General" CPA, i.e., without attest experience. This requires either one or two years of General accounting experience under a licensed CPA (one year if you have 150hrs of education). I recently did general accounting (no attest) for a small CPA firm and was licensed after one year experience.
