Finally received my wall certificate from the IL Board of
Examiners and still waiting on my License. The wait reminds
me of waiting for the score. :(

I finally received my certificate last week. I still haven't had a chance to get it framed.
I will be attending the NCaCPA's 2012 CPA Inauguration next month. During that event I will receive another certificate from that organization.

hi CPA1979, I'm trying to apply for registered CPA in IL,
but what is the 'wall certificate' you mentioned? ? I
tried to apply online thru http://www.idfpr.com , but
they cannot recognize my SSN...... please help me
understand the process here between Board of Examiners
and IDFPR.
thank you very much!

CPA1987,
Sorry I didn't see this post of yours till now. It is too late to be come a
Registered CPA in IL. That designation went away on 6/30/12. Even if you
were able to get the designation you were to lose it come 6/30/12 unless
you apply to become a Licensed CPA.
I don't know which state you passed under, but why are you trying to be
registered in IL. Also to answer your question, in IL the Board of
Examiners certifies you first than you apply for a license to be a licensed
CPA in IL. IL only requires 1 year of tax, accounting, finance, or business
consulting to become licensed. The certificate the board gives you all it is
good for is saying you met the IL requirements and passed the exam.
Hope that helps!
