I have a question. I have recently submitted my resume to a big 4 recruiting manager, I found out their contact info after some thorough search. The recruiter didn't directly give me a reply but their automated email replied to me in two days and indicated to me that my resume is in their database and they also entered my info on their website and created a username and password for me with my resume that I sent to them. I logged in and the info. was there.

Is there something I should do as a follow-up for this?

Are you still in school or a recent grad?  I went through the interview process last fall and had great success going through campus recruiting.  At least in MI, all of the firms do most of their hiring from Aug - Nov.

If you have been out of school awhile, your best bet is to take advantage of any contacts you know in the industry.  I would suggest joining your state association of CPA's if you haven't already.  The MACPA has been hosting mixers all summer for students to meet contacts at the firms.

I know its really competitive right now. Seems like a good sign that she registered your info for you.  You could email her and ask if she has any local recruiting events planned that you could stop by and introduce yourself to the local recruiter.

Thanks for the reply I have been out of school for a year and have
been working on a small CPA firm since then. I guess it is an okay
sign is just that I wasn't sure how to follow up. I will give the asking
about local recruiting event a try. Anything else I should say?

I would just send a short email thanking her for setting up your account, ask her about any local recruiting events, and ask her for the local recruiter's contact info.  I don't know why I'm assuming she's a woman :) him/her.

Good luck!
