(I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section, but as you can see I'm new here.) Quick question on the Ethics exam. Do I have to take and pass the ethics exam within 18 months like the other CPA exams, or is that time limit only imposed on the CPA exams themselves, and I can take the ethics exam pretty much whenever I want? Not that I plan on waiting that long to take it by any means, but just wanted to clarify whether or not I have to have that passed along with the other three exams?
Thanks

Hi CPA1979,
Thanks for the information. Is there a time frame in which the Ethics exam has to be taken and will the State Board provide the info on how the certificate is issued?

There's no time limit in my state (IL) however if you delay getting a license
you would have to do CE as a requirement to be licensed. Also the ethics
exam in my case was a take home exam. Congrats!!!!
