Is it possible to guesstimate if a particular MCQ is a
pretest question. I recently took the audit exam and some
MCQ's in my test was not covered by review materials. Could
those have been pretest questions. The reason I am asking
this question is that I spent a lot of time on those
questions and was wondering if I should not have if there
was a high probability that those were pretest questions

You can't figure out ALL the ones that are pre-test, but
some are obvious. Questions asking about foreign terms that
aren't covered at all or barely covered (ancillary) in
Becker are good candidates. I have seen a few of those and
don't spend much time at all on them.
