Hello,
Do most of you guys think 2-3 months is adequate for FARE? I just got my study materials and I am feeling a mixture of enthusiasm and terror as I review everything on this portion of the exam.
Thank you

I just got done studying FAR so here is my 2 cents on the matter.
IMO, it depends on your personal situation (i.e. how many hours a week you can put into studying, working full time?, do you have a family to take care of?, etc.). However, you do not need more than 3 months to study. I personally believe that people underestimate their ability to pass within a shorter time period. Obviously, your chances of passing on a two week cram session are much lower. However, studying too long (longer than 3 months) will truly burn you out and reduce your chances of passing - not to mention you will start to forget information.
Becker generally seems to recommend two chapters per week (theres 9 chapters for FAR), with a two week final review. If your working full time, you may want to go something like 4 to 5 days per chapter and study for about 2 months total.

Hi all,
would like to introduce myself. Cpa struggling candidate !! Passed REG 80,AUD 74, BEC 70,waiting results, FARE just started with Becker textbook. Just too overwhelm with the topics. But really like the way you all folks help each other out. Feels really good that I have a help here.

Current Study Methodology - Using a four pass system, as explained below: Skim Becker’s book one time, read cover-to-cover three times,
cover all Gleim MCQs at least three times, take hand written notes and review notes, take eight days off before the exam to do a final review.
Assumptions:
Materials: Using Becker’s Book + flash cards and Gleim’s Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). Borrowed the Becker book from friend.
Work Schedule: Work 40 hours/week, with one hour lunch
Work-week Availability: Read for an hour in the morning, do questions at lunch, do flash cards on commute home, studying in the evening
Weekend Availability: Study between six to eight hours on the weekend, no life, friends, going out, parties, TV, etc.
1st Pass = Skim the book. I spend two days skimming all the chapters in the book, just to get familiar with the material. At this
time, I don’t highlight, underline, or take notes on the reading material.
2nd Pass = Read book and work questions: I read each Becker book section and immediately do the questions for that section after
reading. This is an iterative process that allows me to apply what I just read and help reinforce the information. I do this for each
chapter, and typically spend two days on each chapter. I don’t highlight, underline or take notes during the 2nd pass, but do actively read
for understanding, and not just go through the motions of mindlessly reading. This is definitely easier said than done, sometimes I’ll read
aloud to regain my focus. I do sets of approximately 30 Gleim MCQs, for the Becker section I just read. While working the questions, I’ll read
both the correct and incorrect answers, again, this helps reinforce the material I just read, and helps me understand that material from the
question perspective vs. the reading perspective.
3rd Pass = 2nd pass + take notes: I do everything I did in the 2nd pass, except this time, I hand write notes primarily for my problem
areas that I mentally identified during 2nd pass. This includes taking notes while reading and working questions. Taking notes on my weak
areas help me identify causes of problems and also re-enforce the material.
4th Pass = 3rd pass + review notes: For my final review, I take eight days off right before the exam. During this time, I do the 2nd
pass process (read, questions) and review my notes created during the 3rd pass. By this time, I have skimmed the book once and read the book
three times, done all the flash cards and completed all the MCQs at least three times, and am hopefully prepared to dominate FAR!
I take FAR on 5/30 and will find out mid June how this study method worked out.
Good luck to everyone who is going through this process!

FAR is a beast! Variety of topics, but not too deep for each.
I've been keeping to this plan and hope it'll work out. I guess one indicator your plan is working out is qualatively measuring how much free time/life you have left :)

Jeez that is intense! Good luck! My study plan was attend Becker class, do homework, try to read the book, do ALL flashcards. After complete then I went back and did supplemental questions and some practice tests. Guess that is why I got a 76...which is all I wanted....
