Thanks for the feedback jays06! I'm so glad to hear that you're interactions with the staff have been positive.

kkong,

I truly am sorry if you're friend did not receive the level customer service we strive for at Roger CPA Review, and while I appreciate you bringing this issue to our attention, discussing specific options for your friend with you over the forum is not an efficient way to help your friend. I encourage your friend to contact the office, (they can ask for me personally, my name is Sarah). I can assure you we will find a solution, but we must speak with the student directly in order to assist them.

3 times i made a call to the customer service (CS).

1st call. the Girl, helped me with my inquiries. i felt like i can do the exams.

2nd call. i was so disappointed with the person 2nd person that i've talked to. good thing i didnt catched HER name :D because english is not my 1st language, so i was having a hard time expressing/saying the words that i wanna say. so that 2nd person, it felt like, she's not willing to help, like she doesnt care, she's not even suggesting what should i do.

good thing i made the 3rd call. i talked to Darryn. he was so helpful to me. he even advised me what to do with the exam. because of course, i dont know what to do. what exam to take first and how many. so it was him who helped me. i even told him that if i pass the exams, he's one of the people that i will be thankful for.

i also have a bad experience with the message board but i'll just share it next time.

BUT, Roger's teaching method works good for me. i like the spirit! the jokes, sometimes, i even pause the lecture (i got the online) just to laugh! LOL ("and some has the nerve to live longer!"-pensions LMAO!!)

MAEaspiringCPA,

I'm sorry to hear that you didn't have 3 out of 3 great interactions with our staff but I'm happy to hear that Roger's style is working for you. Thanks for taking the time to write about your experience, we appreciate all student feedback!

I recently took the BEC exam using RogerCPA.  Now I know for sure you can pass the exam using his course.  Is it efficient?  For me, it wasn't.

His lectures are great, (but I think he could go over more topics and make it a little longer).

His book gives a decent review of the important topics.

The structure of the review course is my main concern.  For those who don't want to read below, it is basically like reading and learning from one Accounting Book while practicing questions from a different book that has a different chapter structure.  It can get really confusing.

As stated before, all his practice questions are from the Wiley book & software, which is a great source to use.  But, he doesn't follow the same format of the Wiley, and goes back and forth through alot of the Wiley chapters.  This would be OK if the assigned HW corresponded with how he teaches (i.e. Do Module 4 (1-40, 62, 88) for this chapter).  But, he doesn't. This makes it somewhat confusing.  After completing a RogerCPA chapter, I found myself practicing questions that I should not have been practicing until later, and not praticing questions I should have been practicing at that time.

Regardless, I think I did well enough to pass.  But, I honestly think that it might have taken less time to study using just the Wiley Text and Wiley Test Bank Software.

Jay, how much is Roger paying you?

Hi chowder,

I wish I was getting something from Roger besides confidence in taking the Exams (being unemployed for over a year, I could sure use the $$!!).

I agree with you that Roger doesn't follow Wiley chapter by chapter, but when you are done with his lectures, you should be able to do any question from any module in Wiley.

What I did in preparation for a section was review which Wiley modules and questions pertained to the section I was studying and made my own answer sheet accordingly.  That way, you don't do questions that are 1.) not covered in the section and 2.) not wasting time repeating questions from prior sections.

Of course, like I said, in the end, you should be able to do all of the MCQ's in the Wiley book.  Which is what you should do anyway in your final run to your exam date!

Good luck!

Jay
