hey guys.

I am in a bit of a odd situation and could use your advice/ opinion.

A few months ago I was offered a position with one of the big four. I was all
excited, and who wouldn't be, except fast forward a few months and things
aren't going exactly the way I would like them.

First, there has been almost no communication since I have received the
offer. Second, I start in the first week of August and have yet to receive any
information regarding training/ travel itinerary. I have no idea where the
training will be held, how long, etc. Meanwhile, my classmates are getting
invited to various firms events, having lunch with associates, getting to
know the firm/culture, etc.

I'm not sure if they forget about me or they noticed something on my
application that they didn't like. I mean they would let me know if they
decided to terminate my offer, correct? Either way, I'm really concerned and
I am not sure what to do next. I am not sure if this is normal practice or if
I'm in strange situation. I would appreciate if someone could offer
advice/opinion.

Thanks
- James

You definitely should contact your recruiter or your
point-of-contact about it asap.

Although the Big 4 will contact you sporadically, this
case sounds different.

Did you actually sign the offer letter and everything was
accepted? They might have mistyped your e-mail and that
is why you might not be receiving any of the e-mails
recently. Happened to someone I know.

Just let your recruiter know and ask politely if you were
supposed to receive any communication as of late and then
go on from there. If you're starting in August, you
definitely would have gotten information about training,
etc. by now.

You mentioned you were OFFERED a position, but you never
told us if you accepted or not.

EDIT:
I guess we can assume you accepted it. But yes its very odd
to not be receiving those emails. Contact recruiter asap.

I would not expect constant contact, but you should have received something with more information.
