Hi everyone
I'm a young graduate. Just spent five years consecutively in a Florida state
university completing my undergraduate and masters in accounting.
I'm hoping for an opportunity with the big 4. A few questions with regards
to my resume...
Is it necessary to state an objective? I've heard people answer this in
different ways.
Is it appropriate to indicate whether I want to do tax or audit? I feel like I
could do well in either one and would be open to both opportunities.

No. Don't put objective. If you're applying for Big 4 Audit, your purpose is obviously to get into Big 4 Audit. Why waste space? It'll never help you.
You should be decisive and figure out which line of service you want. If you choose tax and end up hating it, transfer out after a year, or vice versa. But you need to show recruiters/interviewers you already did your research and know what you want.
