I passed my CPA exams, but am no tax expert. Strictly speaking, I know that since my fiancee and I both paid for the house we should split the tax deductions, but there is an advantage to us if I take the whole deduction. I haven't found anything stating that I can't do this, but wanted to pose the questions to the expert crowd to see if anyone knows of a situation like this either professionally or personally.
