ACCA offers both a Diploma and a Certification in IFRS. Any idea which one is better?

Hello All,

I would deeply appreciate it if you could help me with some information regarding US CPA work outside USA.

I am a US CPA and I live in Europe. Do you know if a US CPA can provide attestation services in Europe using his US CPA designation? or does he have to be approved by EU Accountancy local board?

Are there any countries outside USA that a US CPA can practise as is?

Hi Marinoscrowe!

I think that you need to be a member of ACCA to practice in Europe. They use Chartered Accountants in UK and Europe.

But I have heard that there is a good demand for US CPAs in Europe. I don't know where the demand is but I think that it is in internal accounting and not attestation services.

This is a negative news but I hope it is helpful.

Diploma in IFRS is better and harder. Although IFRS is an important area of study and getting some demands, I am not sure if either Certification or Diploma are recognized in US.

As you may know, you can only provide auditing & attestation services in the state you are registered in. US CPA is not valid to practice other states or outside of US while the credential is widely recognized. You should check with the EU local board of accountancy what certification is required to practice.
