@AMagan ---

1)what's the difference b/w CPA Certificate and CPA
license? Only certain states issue a CPA certificate after passing CPA exam. If you're appearing from CO board, they do not issue any certificate as such, its only your marksheets that you have as a proof of your CPA degree :) CPA license is a small wallet card with your membership information.

2)I don't intend to do public practice here in US, so do
I still need to take ethics exam ?? No, you need to take the ethics exam only if you intend to get the license.

3) I wish to use my CPA title for industry jobs in
India/US or anywhere else, for this what would I need to
do? Can I mention it in my resume if I don't take CO
board Ethics exam? You can mention the CPA degree on your resume for applying jobs, if you don't have a CPA license(& eventually don't go for ethics exam). But you cannot sign any document as a CPA, unless you have the active license. If you never intend to practice, you can do without the license.

4) What's the maximum time allowed to take Ethics exam
after passing all CPA exams? Actually its the license - if you do not want the license, no need to appear for ethics exam. You have 5 years after passing the CPA exam to decide if you want to go for the license or not. Now assume that you decide to go for the license. In this case, first of all you need to appear for the ethics exam. After passing the ethics exam, you have 1 year to apply for the CPA license. Hope I did not confuse you! Please let me know if you need any clarifications.

5) Can I take up Ethics exam online from India after
getting all material from US - Yes, you can take the exam online from India anytime.

Aarthi

Colorado 2.5 rule - There are few conditions. Is all conditions to be satisfied together. I am BSc + CA from india. Passed 4 papers. FACS evalution under 2.5 says  I have 150 hours completed and another place it says 32 hours of business admn. Rule 2.5 para A bachelor degree + 30 hours - this is satisfied. but business admn is 36 hours required which i have 32 hours only.

Can I get licence or i have to do some more courses

Hey,

I have completed my CPA from CO state. I want to apply for its license now. I want to apply under rule 2.5 Education in lieu of experience. I have a Bcom & CA from India just like you. So, did you qualify under rule 2.5? With whom did you get your degrees evaluated? Is it ok to submit just your marksheets & Certificates and not transcripts (I don't have them)?

3. I don't have an SSN as I am on a dependent visa & I inquired with CO State Board. It seems to be mandatory to state your SSN. I don't have one. The Affidavit is for persons not physically present in US. I am in US.. What should I do?
