Hi all-

Do you guys have any advice on what to focus on for reg? I am currently using becker review but was told that they didn't really do a good job on materials to focus on... I heard a few mixed reviews, such as ethics, and partnership tax are heavily tested. Any advice would be great, as Reg (tax) isn't my strong point in accounting.

Thanks!!

I would just say do as many MCQs as possible. It's always a mixed bag. I have taken the exam 5 times and each time they have been vastly different.

WannabeCPA,

look at CSOs and study everything. Corporations, pships, property transactions, individual taxes are heavily tested on the exam. Don't leave for the exam until you know UCC, bankruptcy, professional responsibilities and SEC regulations. Best of luck!

wannabeCPA

I used Becker and also Wiley online testbank. Based on my experience I would say do Mcqs from Becker until you get  90% or more, do the sims more than twice and if you have time definitely go through the book. I usually listen to the lectures and do the mcqs till i get the hang of it, if I do not understand anything I'll listen the lecture again , In my test I saw lot of questions from ethics and SSTS, and partnerships. reg is like a mixed bag, you cannot just focus on something. I felt like everything was equally important. There is no logic in regulation, you just have to memorize the rules and exceptions and exceptions to exceptions...lol.

Do not get overwhelmed by all the details, basically do tons of mcqs, If you do your homework I think it is stilll manageable. as everyone else advised me DO not blow off  ethics and SSTS .
