I have heard mention about ethics exam but don't know anything about it.  Do all states require you to take the ethics exam?  Where would I find information on ethics exam requirements?  I don't see anything on the NASBA web site for my state (NY), or on the NY license requirements site:
http://www.nasba.org/nasbaweb/NASBAWeb.nsf/wpecsp?openform&a mp;stateabbrev=NY
http://www.op.nysed.gov/cpalic.htm

I will take my last section on Oct 6 and am thinking of studying for the ethics exam while I wait for my score.

New York apparently only has 3 E's(Education, Experience, Examination). It doesn't look like any ethics exam is required for licensure in New York. http://www.op.nysed.gov/cpalic.htm#gen

No mention of Ethics Exam. Here's what New York law says:http://www.op.nysed.gov/article149.htm#cpa

Of all places, New York, the home of Wall Street, should require the Ethics Exam for every accountant, banking, and finance professional. It's a shame that they don't.

I would not be applying for licensure as won't be staying in Unites States. Currently, I am registered from Colorado State Board and have one section to go.

I guess I would not be required to take ethics exam since I would not be applying for licensure. Is it true?

The only proof of completion of CPA would be the Congratulatory letter and a report that about the pass status of all 4 sections, correct?

Thanks, CharliePapaAlfa.  Yeah, I also saw those sites and saw no mention of ethics exam, only heard of ethics exam from reading these forums.  Are you also in NY state?

Hi Divya!  You will not be applying for licensure at all?  what benefit does passing the CPA exam give you if you don't apply for licensure?
